Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath on 30th March 2018 had inaugurated India’s longest elevated six-lane road named as 'Hindon' in Ghaziabad.
The elevated six-lane road is around 10.30 kilometres long, which is built on 227 single pillars.
The elevated six-lane road connects UP Gate to Rajnagar Extension. It will be beneficial for people traveling from Delhi to Meerut, Moradabad and Modinagar. (‘NH 24’ to ‘NH 58’).
The elevated six-lane road, construction process was started in November 2014, which took approx 3.4 years to complete. It was built at a cost of about Rs 11,000 crores.
The elevated six-lane road is believed to foresee traffic of 4,000 vehicles per hour a day. Only two and four-wheeled vehicles would be allowed on this road during the initial days.
The Traffic coming from UP Gate will see the elevated road 1.5 kilometers before at night. It is made up of Retro Reflection High-Quality Sheets of green and pink color which will be easily visible at night.
To rise on the elevated road, Gate has been constructed with quality sheets and Iron having no or less repairing cost in future.
In India, earlier Barapullah road was the longest in NCR region of 9.5 Kilometers long.
The elevated road constructed on Dwarka Expressway is also one of the longest elevated roads in India of 9 Kilometers long.
