UP Yogi Government Launched DASTAK Campaign 2018 tagline, to spread awareness and eradicate Japanese Encephalitis, Acute Encephalitis Syndrome    

Uttar Pradesh Government launched massive door to door "DASTAK campaign" on 5th February 2018

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the initiative at an event in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

DASTAK Campaign was launched in collaboration with UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund).

DASTAK Campaign The tagline is “Darwaja Khatkhatao -AES aur JE- ko Bhagao”.

DASTAK Campaign is an initiative and part of the comprehensive Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategy aimed to remove and fight against Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JES) disease from the state.

The Encephalitis affects children up to 15 years of age. It affects an average of 4000 persons besides declaring a life of over 500 each year in UP.

Under DASTAK campaign, the UP state in association with UNICEF will go door to door in 38 JES and AE affected districts, especially in the Tarai region as this region contributes about 60% of the total AES cases all over the nation.

Under DASTAK campaign, children of 600 schools in the affected areas will also be part of this campaign.

Under DASTAK campaign, many departments of  UP state including health, rural development, primary education, Anganwadi’s will work together to spread awareness about the diseases through mass media communication.

DASTAK campaign will also provide clean drinking water, initiate sanitation drive and ensure vaccination and early treatment so that disease should be suppressed in the beginning stage.

Under DASTAK campaign, the vaccination work will be completed by March-April 2018.
