World’s first Tsunami Awareness Day will be celebrated on 5th November 2016.
The event will be organised with Disaster Risk Reduction Champions (DRR) at Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR).
The event will be organised at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi by the Government of India with UNISDR.
To remember the day of burning rice sheaves, a resolution was proposed by 142 countries and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This day will spread awareness among the people about dangers of Tsunami and the early warning symbols to lessen the damage caused by Tsunami.
It will also give information to the people relating to the knowledge of Tsunami as to how it occurs and what are its ill-effects.
The events relating to exhibitions, thematic events and distribution of events will take place at Vigyan Bhawan.
