World Maritime Day is generally celebrated on 30th September. It is Day is an annual event organized by the United Nations (UN) in conjunction with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to honor the maritime industry's contribution to the global economy.
The theme of world maritime day is "Seafarers: At the Core of Shipping’s Future”.
The goal, as always, is to raise awareness of the vital labor that seafarers perform to keep the global economy afloat.
Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, which has posed several problems to seafarers, this year's award is more deserving than ever. International travel restrictions, a shortage of shore leave, and crew changes are just a few of the challenges that seafarers have faced as a result of this unusual circumstance. The goal of World Maritime Day 2021 is to bring attention to these concerns that continue to plague many sailors throughout the world.
