World Aids Vaccine Day or HIV Vaccine Awareness Day is observed on 18th May every year around the world.
World Aids Vaccine Day is marked in order to raise awareness of the need for a vaccine for AIDS and HIV.
World Aids Vaccine Day is also celebrated to acknowledge the research work carried out towards this goal. All those who help victims of the infection also receive praise on this poignant day.
On World Aids Vaccine Day, several activities around the globe are organised aimed at raising awareness of the need for AIDS vaccines and also in educating people about how HIV can be prevented.
Unfortunately, no AIDS and HIV vaccine till date has been developed, however some medicines related to lessening the effects of this disastrous disease been invented. Scientists and Researchers are continuously making their best efforts to develop its vaccine.
World Aids Vaccine Day was first observed on 18th May 1998, a year later when US Former President, Bill Clinton delivered his speech at the Morgan State University in 1997 and asked experts and scientists around the world to work towards creating a vaccine for AIDS.
Bill Clinton, during his speech also claimed that this would be the only way to spread AIDS awareness and eventually to eliminate it out.
