World Contraception Day is observed on 26th September, every year across the world to improve awareness about contraception and to enable young people to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health.
World Contraception Day is an annual worldwide campaign center around a vision where every pregnancy is wanted. It was launched in the year 2007.
World Contraception Day 2019 theme this year is 'Contraception: it's your life, it's your responsibility' which is the every year theme and motto of World Contraception Day.
World Contraception Day also aims to promote awareness about sexual and reproductive health among the people from every walk of life whether well-educated or illiterate, men or women, teenagers or adults which promises a better and healthier future of the planet.
Contraceptions like condom can protect from unintended pregnancy, HIV, and other sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Modern parallel complications of sexual activity should, therefore, be considered when selecting contraceptives.'
At present, India holds the second largest population in the world after China, hence, creating awareness about contraception is an absolute need of the hour'. It is estimated that India will surpass its population from China by 2022.
