World Conference on Accreditation (WOSA) History, Objectives, Features, Role in Quality Education 

Central Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar inaugurated the fourth World Conference on Accreditation (WOSA-2018) in New Delhi on 8th September 2018.

Speaking on the occasion, the Human Resource Development Minister said that both the 'merit assessment and departmental prestige' are quality criteria of any educational institution, hence accreditation becomes important.

Promotes ranking and rating competition for good performance in institutions.

For example, due to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), each institution has set up an internal committee to increase its ranking.

Students also see the rankings of institutions before admission.

NBA organized a global conference on accreditation from September 7 to 9th September in New Delhi. The theme of WOSA 2018 was 'Challenges and Opportunities before Results-Based Accreditation'.

WOSA 2018 is an opportunity to open an open dialogue to find the platforms of future partnerships and to facilitate movement of students and professionals around the world in order to gain international experience for those associated with academia and industry.

Participating partners will gain a better understanding of the current accelerated accreditation processes.

The industry will be able to interact with educational institutions and accrediting agencies to share their views on better public and accreditation standards.

The Global Conference on Accreditation (WOSA) is a one-time conference organized by NBA in two years, which provides a forum for participants to share knowledge and information about the subject of accreditation.
