World Bank's Doing Business 2017 Equal Opportunity for All report

 

 

World Bank has ranked India at 130th position out of 190 countries for ease of doing business in the year 2017

According to the annual report ‘Doing business 2017: Equal opportunity for All’, in 2016 India was at 131st position but now India has improved a place and now is at 130th position of ease of doing business in the country.

This ranking is placed by estimating the index averages of the country’s percentile rankings on 10 indicators each having equal weightage.

Rankings are based on 10 indicators which include establishment of business, credit creation etc.

These 10 indicators include starting business, getting electricity, dealing with construction permits, getting credit, registering property, protecting investors, employing workers, enforcing contracts, paying taxes and resolving insolvency.

A higher ranking indicates favourable regulatory environment, starting and operations of the firm.

New Zealand tops the list by being at the 1st position while Singapore is at the 2nd position.
