The world health organization (WHO) Launched The Malaria Report 2021: About, Details

The world health organization (WHO)has launched The world Malaria Report 2021.

The impact of disruptions to malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment during the COVID-19 epidemic was examined more closely in the 2021 edition of the study. According to the most recent data, WHO's worst-case scenario — a doubling of malaria deaths in Sub-Saharan Africa – did not come to pass. Moderate delays to malaria services, on the other hand, resulted in a significant rise in cases and deaths in 2020 compared to the previous year.

According to the World Health Organization's most recent malaria report, there would be 241 million malaria infections and 627 000 malaria deaths worldwide year 2020. In 2020, there will be around 14 million more cases than in 2019, with 69 000 more deaths. During the pandemic, approximately two-thirds of the excess deaths (47 000) were attributable to disruptions in malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
