Burhanpur's Kundi Bhandara is a 400 Years Old Technology of Water Conservation of Burhanpur which was built by Abdur-Rahim Khan-I-Khana.
Burhanpur, located in the heart of India in Madhya Pradesh was widely known as the cultural capital of the Mughals.
Kundidhara was the first experiment of its kind in India, however, this kind of technique has been practiced in countries such as Iran-Iraq.
Poet Rahim has brought this technique from here to Burhanpur. In order to provide pure drinking water to the people of the city, they had constructed 8 such water storage centers.
Out of these, two-story Bhandara had ended long ago, but they continued to work for a long time.
Under this system was built in the underground water sources at the time of Engineers by three reservoirs or stores.
Their height was kept about 100 feet high from the city so that the water could be distributed to the entire city from the flow towards the river.
For getting inside Kundidhara, one has to fall into a depth of about 90 feet.
