India’s Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu is on a five-day visit to South America's Guatemala, Panama and Peru.
Venkaiah Naidu on his second leg of his visit reached Panama and held bilateral talks with Panama’s President Juan Carlos Varela Rodrigues and Vice President and Foreign Minister Isabel de Saint Malo.
India and Panama on the occasion signed two agreements on the exemption of Visas for holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports and in the field of Agriculture. These ties are based on common values and a shared commitment to democracy, pluralism, multi-culturalism and rule of law of both the countries.
As per the source, two centers for Biodiversity and Innovation will be set up by India in Panama worth the US $10 million and the US $15 million each.
India and Panama have also agreed to boost cooperation in key areas by strengthening cooperation in tax information, economic cooperation, air services, traditional medicines, culture and space
India has reiterated its zero tolerance level for terrorism and resolves to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Panama has also extended its cooperation by consolidating Latin America’s support against the global menace of terrorism.
