The 2nd edition of World Hindu Congress (WHC-2018) was concluded on 9th September 2018, in Chicago, United States.
The World Hindu Congress (WHC-2018) was organized to commemorate 125 years anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago address in Parliament of World Religions on 11th September 1893.
The WHC-2018 event was organised by World Hindu Foundation (WHF). It was scheduled to be held from 7th Sep to 9th September 2018.
The theme of WHC-2018 event was “Sumantrite Suvikrante”- Think Collectively, Achieve Valiantly”.
The WHC-2018 event was attended by Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
Delegates at WHC-2018 was welcomed with a surprise sweet box containing two ladoos -'one hard 'and 'one soft'.
The surprise sweet packets were distributed to convey the common perception that Hindu society is not united
The soft ladoo represented the status of Hindus today that they may be easily broken and swallowed while the future vision for the Hindu society should be like a hard ladoo-strongly bonded,".
The World Hindu Congress (WHC) is a global platform for Hindus to connect, share ideas, inspire one another, and impact the common good.
WHC offers Hindus opportunity to introspect towards improvement and tap into collective resources to seek tangible solutions to most pressing issues of our age.
The first inaugural WHC was held in November 2014 in New Delhi with the theme ‘Sangachchhadhwam Samvadadhwam’ which means ‘Step together, Express together’. Since then, it is held once every four years.
