World Happiness Index 2018 India Ranked 133- Details, Ranking Tally, About

India was ranked 133rd on the Global list of the happiest countries, World Happiness Index 2018, According to the released report by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

The UN based report, World Happiness Index, measures 156 countries in terms of happiness. It has ranked India in the 133rd position in its 2018 report.

The World Happiness Index earlier, in 2017 has ranked India to122nd position, which shows a drop of 11 places to now in 2018. India was ranked 118th in 2016 report.

In World Happiness Index-2018, India was left behind from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Nations which includes Pakistan (75th Rank), Nepal (101st Rank), Bhutan (97th Rank), Bangladesh (115th Rank) and Sri Lanka (116th Rank).

In World Happiness Index-2018, India only beats Afghanistan in SAARC nations, which attained the 145th rank.

According to the World Happiness Index-2018, the Top Ten happiest countries includes Finland (1st Rank), Norway (2nd Rank), Denmark (3rd Rank), Iceland (4th Rank), Switzerland (5th Rank), Netherlands (6th Rank), Canada (7th Rank), New Zealand (8th Rank), Sweden (9th Rank) and Australia (10th Rank).

In World Happiness Index-2018, some other countries include US (18th Rank), UK(19th Rank), UAE (20th Rank).

About World Happiness Index

The World Happiness Index ranked 156 countries based on parameters such as Inequality, Life Expectancy, GDP per capita, Social Freedom, Generosity, Public Trust (lack of corruption in government and business) and Social Support.

The World Happiness Index report utilizes these parameters to generate a happiness score of the country on a scale from 1 to 10.
