Fifty Indian Peacekeepers in Sudan Awarded UN Medal for their professionalism 

Fifty (50) Indian peacekeepers stationed in South Sudan have been awarded the UN Medal for their professionalism and service in protecting civilians and building long-lasting peace in the conflict-stricken nation.

UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Force Commander General Frank Mushyo Kamanzi awarded the UN Medal to the officers serving with the Indian Battalion, located in Bor in the Jonglei region of South Sudan.

The officers have been recognized for their contribution in carrying out patrols across the region along with for providing a safe.

It also recognized for their secure environment to the 2,500 civilians who sought sanctuary at the United Nations Protection of Civilians site at Bor.
