The United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May on 24th May 2019, has announced that she would be resigning as the leader of the Conservative Party and Britain’s Prime Minister, after repeatedly failing to get her Brexit plan through the UK Parliament.
Theresa May in her public addressal said that it was in the best interests of the nation to choose a new prime minister, who will lead them through the Brexit process.
Theresa May announced plans to step down as the leader of the Conservative Party on 7th June 2019, with the process to replace her beginning the following week.
Brexit is a term used to define the United Kingdom coming out of the EU.
Recently in a referendum conducted in the United Kingdom, UK voted by a narrow margin in favor of Brexit. Negotiations are undergoing currently between the United Kingdom and the European Parliament to negotiate the terms of the exit deal.
