UN re-elected Japan, China, UK, US, Iraq in Human Rights council

 

 

United Nations has re-elected many countries in General Assembly including UK, US at the Human Rights Council

The United Nations General Assembly has re-elected China, United States and United Kingdom and other countries to Human Rights council for three years.

The council has in all 47 members which are elected through secret ballot by the majority of 193 members of the General Assembly.

The tenure is for three years and are then re-elected but not immediately after two successive terms.

The other countries which were elected are Hungary, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Croatia, Cuba, Brazil, Iraq, South Africa, Rwanda and Tunisia.

United Nations protect and promote the human rights and fundamental freedom.

UN also recommend on human rights violations and human right emergencies to prevent exploitations.

The membership council of General Assembly is based on equitable geographical distribution.

UN was established in the year 2006 to replace UN commission of human rights.
