Constitution: The Union, Article 52 to Article 56

 

 

Constitution: The President and Vice President, the power of India, Election of President, and Manner of the election of President

Arti-52- There shall be a President of India.

Arti-53- the Executive power of India

The executive power of the Union shall be vested in the President and shall be exercised by him either directly or through officers subordinate to him in accordance with this Constitution.

Arti-54- Election of President.

The President is elected not directly by the people, the President shall be elected by the members of an electoral college consisting of -

A- The elected member of both houses of parliament.

B- The elected members of the Legislative Assemblies of the state.

Arti-55- Manner of election of President.

The election of the President shall be held in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote and the voting to such elections shall be by secret ballot.

Arti 56- Term of office for a term of five years the date on which he enters upon his office.
