Union Cabinet approved India and Tajkistan MoU on Cooperation on Youth Matters: Details, Aim, Highlights

Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22nd November 2018  has approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Tajikistan on Cooperation on Youth Matters. This agreement was signed on 8th October 2018 at Dushanbe. 

The MoU was signed by Somnath Ghosh, Indian Ambassador to Tajikistan, for Youth Affairs and Sports, and Abdullozoda Ahtam Rustam, Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports Affairs for the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. 

Under the MoU, areas of cooperation include exchanges of youth, representatives of youth organisations and government officials in-charge of youth policy-making, exchanges of printed materials, films, experiences, research and other information on youth matters and participation in youth camps, youth festivals and other youth events held in the two countries.

The MoU main aim is to strengthen and encourage cooperation on youth matters with Tajikistan through participation in events and activities organised by either side, information and knowledge sharing, and youth exchanges.

This agreement will remain valid for a period of 5 years.
