UNESCO declared the Great Barrier Reef to be dead due to bleeching, home of largest population species, dolphins, turtles

UNESCO declared that one of the seven monuments of the world Great Barrier Reef to be dead.

It was declared that Great Barrier Reef of Australia was found dead due to bleaching.

The Great Barrier Reef is 25 million years old which measures around 3000 km long and having 300 individual reef systems.

World's largest population species Dugong and largest breeding of turtles live here

World’s largest Corals live here including coral sponges, molluscs, rays, dolphins, 200 types of birds, 1500 species of tropical fish, 20 types of reptiles and giant clams over 120 years old.

The world’s largest population species dugong and largest breeding ground of turtles live here.

Due to high water temperature coral bleaching happens which results in corals ejecting the algae that lives on it on which it is dependent for the survival.

When the algae ejects the coral becomes white which makes the coral incapable to emit shell to form colonies to different individuals.
