The 23rd annual Conferences of the parties (COP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate change (UNFCCC) began in Bonn, Germany on 6 November 2017.
This annual conference kicked off with the aims to hold to the path of the Paris Climate Change Agreement.
The 23rd annual conference held from 6 November to 17 November 2017. India at the UN summit firmly asserted its stand.
According to the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Harsh Vardhan, India considers climate change as a major threat.
While inaugurating the India Pavilion at the summit, Harsh Vardhan stated that India will also play a positive and constructive role in combating fight climate change.
The Theme of India for 23rd annual COP is 'Conserving Now, Preserving Future'. Solving the crisis of climate is not a question of politics but the moral obligation, the minister noted.
