Advocate Tushar Mehta becomes Solicitor General of India

 

 

Senior advocate Tushar Mehta has been appointed as the new Solicitor General of India on October 10, 2018.

Tushar Mehta is currently an Additional Solicitor General. Tushar Mehta will replace this post in place of Ranjit Kumar. Ranjit Kumar resigned from this post in December 2017.

Tushar Mehta was nominated for the Solicitor General of India by the Cabinet's Appointment Committee. Tushar Mehta, who has been vacant for almost 11 months, will be responsible for this post. Tushar Mehta is the Additional Solicitor General of India from the year 2014. Mehta has kept the Central Government's stand in the Information Act Section 66A.
