- Tidal power plants may create a lot of energy even at modest speeds because water is so thick.
Disadvantage of the tidal energy:
- The cost: constructing tidal power facilities is now quite costly. This is due to the fact that they must be extremely strong in order to withstand the force of the water. Tidal barrages, for example, are often constructed of concrete, which results in a high initial cost.
- Environmental effects: Even if the electricity they create is environmentally favourable, tidal power plants aren't always helpful for the ecosystem around them.
