Tamilisai Soundararajan is the Tamil Nadu President from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She is also a medical doctor by profession.
President of India Ram Nath Kovind, has appointed Tamilisai Soundararajan as the Governor of Telangana on 1st September 2019.
Tamilisai Soundararajan has also served as National Secretary of the BJP Party in 2013, prior to this Governor appointment.
Tamilisai Soundararajan is now the first independent Governor of Telangana state after its bifurcation from Andhra Pradesh in the year 2014.
Tamilisai Soundararajan was born on 2 June 1961 (58-years-old) in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District in Tamil Nadu. Her father Kumari Anandan, was former Member of Parliament and senior Congress party leader in Tamil Nadu.
Tamilisai Soundararajan did MBBS at Madras Medical College, Chennai and completed a degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. She also pursed special higher training in Sonology and FET therapy in Canada.
Tamilisai Soundararajan married Soundarajan, who is a doctor & medical professor.
Tamilisai Soundararajan also worked as an assistant professor at Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai for five years and a visiting consultant at several medical hospitals.
Tamilisai Soundararajan has lost all her elections contesting for MP or MLA (2006, 2011) from Tamil Nadu till date.
