Telangana Government celebrates the 4th anniversary of its establishment on 2nd June 2018, as the day when the Telangana state was formed out from Andhra Pradesh in 2014.
Telangana state became India's 29th state on 2nd June 2014, after it was carved out of Andhra Pradesh.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also extended his best wishes for the Telangana state in a tweet stating "Greetings to my sisters and brothers of Andhra Pradesh. I pray for the good health and prosperity of the people of the state,".
Telangana state was formed as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, commonly known as the 'Telangana Act' which is an Act of Indian Parliament that bifurcated the state of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and the residuary Andhra Pradesh state, due to the Telangana movement.
The Telangana Act defined the boundaries of the two states, determined how the assets and liabilities were to be divided and laid out the status of Hyderabad as the permanent capital of new Telangana state and temporary capital of the Andhra Pradesh state.
