Swachhta hi Seva in UP, over 3.52 lakh toilet units 17 days, open Defecation Free

 

 

UP Government announced that over 3.52 lakh toilet units in 17 days have built under the Centre’s Swachhta hi Seva campaign

The Uttar Pradesh Government has announced that over 3.52 lakh toilet units in 17 days have built under the Centre’s Swachhta hi Seva campaign.

It had elbowed out another state in the effort of construction of toilet. The toilets were constructed between September 15 and 2nd October which constructed around 2, 54, 953 toilets.

Apart from that, Karnataka which built around 2, 41, 708 toilet in the same period as Government of UP in the effort of Rajasthan.

According to the chief Secretary Rajive Kumar, overall, almost 18, 24, 549 toilets were constructed across the state.

Nagar Panchayat Saharanpur in Bijnore district was declared open Defecation Free following a third party inspection.

The 653 urban local bodies of the state could be declared open- defecation free by May 2019.

The amounts are given for construction of personal toilets from Rs 8,000 to Rs 20,000 under urban local bodies.
