The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under Ministry of Commerce and industry exhibited Start-up-India ranking framework.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu launched the Start-up-India ranking framework on 6th February 2018 at an event held in New Delhi.
The Start-up-India ranking framework aims to rank States & Union Territories based on measures regions that have been promoting and acting proactively in strengthening startups or entrepreneurship ecosystems at the local level.
The Start-up-India ranking framework will also help states/UTs to bring progress made in their startup ecosystem and to make different states learn and recreate good practices.
The Start-up-India ranking framework is based on the feedback collected from Startup ecosystem stakeholders, which include startups, mentors, investors, accelerators, incubators and the government bodies.
Under the framework, seed funding support, women entrepreneurship are preferably given more score. The parameters of this feedback focus on all the actions and initiatives undertaken by states on or before March 2018.
The Startup India Kit will offer crucial information, advice and support through website links, statistics, tools, templates, events, competitions and a glossary on startup terms.
