First Apex Conference for the CEOs of Smart Cities To Be Held in Bhopal- Details, Aim, Purpose, About
The First Apex Conference for the CEOs of Smart Cities is a two-day event scheduled to be held from 8th May to 9th May 2018.
Minister of State (I/C) for Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Puriwill inaugurate the ‘First Apex Conference for the CEOs of the Smart Cities.
The First Apex Conference will show the participation of Smart City CEOs, Representatives from municipal, State and Central Government and other stakeholders in the Smart City Mission from the Civil Society, Academia, Industry, Ambassadors of several countries, UN representatives etc.
The First Apex Conference is being organised with an aim to provide momentum to the cities and a platform for cross-learning, sharing and disseminating the experience gained over the past two and a half years.
The First Apex Conference will also show exhibition and presentations by the ‘Smart Cities CEOs’ that will provide useful insights for accelerating project implementation and enable cross learning among Smart Cities.
About Smart City Mission
The Smart City Mission is flagship scheme of Union Government that will cover 100 cities and its duration is five years (2015-16 to 2019-20).
The Smart City mission main focus is on the sustainable and inclusive development and set examples which can be replicated in other parts of the city and other cities of India.
Under Smart City Mission there are 10 core infrastructure elements which include adequate water supply; assured electricity supply; sanitation, including solid waste management; efficient urban mobility and public transport; affordable housing, especially for the poor; robust IT connectivity and digitalization; good governance, especially e-Governance and citizen participation; sustainable environment; safety and security of citizens, particularly women, children and the elderly; and health and education.
