Shramev Jayate Yojana : Launch and Objective
Shramev Jayate Yojana is also known as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shramev Jayate Karyakram was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in
October 2014 under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The scheme aims to expand government support for imparting skill training to the workers.
Objectives of Shramev Jayate Yojana
The Yojana supports the 'Make in India' campaign for encouraging the manufacturing sector.
The Government of India took several initiatives under this Yojana.
Five major initiatives are discussed below:-
1)Shram Suvidha Portal
2)A Universal Account Number (UAN) is allotted to the workers.
The UAN is linked with the bank account and Aadhar Card.
This number contains complete information of around 4.17 crore subscribers.
3)Labour Inspection Scheme
4)This Yojana supports the manufacturing units through reimbursement of 50% of the stipend paid to the apprentices during their first two years of training.
5)This Yojana is in association with Revamped Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana. It aims to provide Smart Card facility to the workers belonging to unorganized sector.
