Sherpa Tribe from Tibet and Nepal History, Demography, Special Biological Features, Superior Features vs Normal Human

Sherpa is a tribe of Tibetan who lives in Nepal. The tribe is migrated from Tibet to Nepal 1000 years ago. They have the population of nearly 45000. They live in the Khumbu and Solu Khumbu regions that lie to the south of Mount Everest.

Sherpas had genetic adaptations after living in one of the world's highest regions for thousands of years. This gave them an advantage when in high altitudes with low oxygen. Their heart uses glucose and lungs with an increased efficiency with low oxygen conditions.

The word "sherpa" has also become a job description on a formal trekking crew. Their job is to guide the group and responsible for their safety. Kami Rita Sherpa who works as a guide. He has achieved a new world record in May 2018 by climbing mount Everest 22nd time at the age 48. 

The most important culture of the Sherpa community is their rule of hospitality means visitors must not go away from home without unfed or without a drink. Guests are entertained with Tibetan tea or beer.

The major festivals of the Sherpas are Losar, Dumje, and Mani Rimdu. Losar, which falls towards the end of February, marks the beginning of the New Year in the Tibetan calendar.
