Lawsuit filed by Google against Uber on self-driving technology

 

 

Legal tussle between Google and Uber - Allegations of stolen information on Customized Lider technology

Anthony Levandowski was one of the major players in the development of self-driving cars.

Anthony Levandowski is accused of stealing trade secrets from Google to start his own company, Otto.

The Company Otto is a self-driving truck company, acquired by Uber for $680 million.

The Lawsuit against Uber is over serious intellectual property theft of the custom-built Lidar components.

Wymo, the company managing the self-driving car unit claims an unauthorized download of 14,000 sensetive documents before quitting his job at the company.

Two other engineers Radu Raduta and Sameer Kshirsagar were also accused of stealing documents from Whymo.

The two engineers also quit Whymo to join Uber.

Radu Raduta a mechanical engineer for the company has been incognito and does not currently work for Uber

The legal tussel between Google and Uber has brought to light the budget that Google has spent on self-driving technology with over 1 billion dollars.

Waymo has the first patented a technology for self-driving cars to prevent accidents with pedestrians.
