It is a Eurasian economic, political & Security organization called the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO), or Shanghai Pact. SCO was founded on 15 June 2001. It consists of 8 full-time members, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, India, and Pakistan.
Anyone familiar with the history and the dynamics of the geopolitical structure in the region recognize that the countries listed here have not always acted as friendly neighbors. There is headquarter of SCO in Beijing, China.
SCO is an important platform for maintaining security and economic co-operation in vast Eurasian landmass (mainly Central Asia and its adjoining region).
SCO can become a milestone in the development of Central Asia in the future. Initially, SCO was all about Central Asian republics and their two giant neighbors Russia and China. But now with India and Pakistan joining SCO and Iran as a possible member, SCO has expanded beyond Central Asia and may play an important role in the economic and security development of whole Eurasian landmass.
The decision to include both India and Pakistan as full members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) was taken in Ufa (Russia) summit in 2015. India is expecting security-related cooperation with the SCO through its Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS), which deals with issues of security and defense.
