Russia launches its largest military drills ' Vostok-2018' on 11th September 2018: Details, Aim, Purpose, Highlights

Russia launched its first ever largest military drill 'Vostok-2018' on 11th September 2018, it includes the participation of 300,000 troops, including China and Mongolia in a move when North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) denounced as "exercising large-scale conflict".

The 'Vostok-2018' is a week-long military drill is scheduled to be held from 11th September 2018 to 17th September 2018  in eastern Siberia.

Russian Defence Minister, Sergei Shoigu informed that 'Vostok-2018' military drill would be even larger, with 300,000 soldiers, 36,000 military vehicles, 1,000 planes and 80 warships taking part in the drills.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin will also to participate in this 'Vostok-2018' military drill. Powell, Russia's military analyst said that this drill will be the future  World War's preparation which is not only a signal or message but it is a preparation for a war. Although Russia has denied that this drill can be a cause of concern for a country. 

Russia's previous military exercise in the region, Vostok-2014, was almost half the size, with 155,000 soldiers participating.

Russia's war games in Eastern Europe last year, Zapad-2017, saw 12,700 troops take part according to Moscow. Ukraine and the Baltic states said the true number was far bigger.
