Rohan More, a 32-year-old swimmer from Pune, India has become the first Indian and Asian to swim across the Ocean Seven in New Zealand, on 9th February 2018.
Rohan More also became the youngest and 9th person in the world to complete the swimming challenge across the Ocean Seven.
Rohan More swims bravely facing the cold water and strong Antarctic currents, to complete his swim in just 8 hours 37 minutes.
Rohan More after his achievement proclaimed that "It was the greatest moment of his life as he swam across Cook Strait in New Zealand which was the seven and last in the Ocean Seven." He also thanked his family members and friends for their support which helped him to conquer this feat.
Rohan More has received the prestigious Tenzing Norgay Award from the Indian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The award, also known as the National Adventure Award, was presented by President Ram Nath Kovind.
The Ocean's Seven marathon comprised of seven long-distance open-water swims, which includes the North Channel, the Cook Strait, the Molokai Channel, the English Channel, the Catalina Channel, the Tsugaru Strait and the Strait of Gibraltar.
The Ocean's Seven marathon is considered swimming equivalent of the Seven Summits mountaineering challenge.
