President Ram Nath Kovind is on a three-nation official state visit to African countries of Equatorial Guinea, Swaziland and Zambia from 7th April 2018 to 12th April 2018.
This is the time when any Indian President, visited Zambia after 29 years.
President Ram Nath Kovind on his third leg of his visit to Africa arrived Zambia on 10th April 2018, where he was accorded with 21 gun salute and was inspected a full guard of honor.
President Ram Nath Kovind held bilateral-level talks with Zambian President, Edgar Lungu on 10th April 2018 in Mbabane.India and Zambia showed agreement on expanding their partnership to accelerate growth and development.
President Ram Nath Kovind urged Indian population in Zambia to become the partner in India’s growth and asked them to take advantage of Overseas Citizen of India, OCI programme.
India and Zambia signed four Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) which includes the establishment of Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Zambia, Taxation, Visa Exemption on diplomatic passports and Judicial cooperation.
The President Ram Nath Kovind also addressed India-Zambia business forum.
India and Zambia will also sign a USD 40 Million Agriculture Mechanisation agreement during the visit.
The Indian President will leave from Zambia on 12th April 2018.
