Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has launched web-based application e-FRRO (e-Foreigners Regional Registration Office) scheme on 13th April 2018 by Union Home Minister, Rajnath Sigh at a function in New Delhi.
The e-FRRO scheme main objective is to provide faceless, cashless and paperless services to foreign tourist and travelers with a user-friendly experience.
The e-FRRO scheme also focuses to build centralized, transparent online platform for foreigners to avail visa related services.
The e-FRRO scheme is being implemented on Immigration, Visa, Foreigners Registration and Tracking (IVFRT).
The e-FRRO scheme aims to eradicate the need of any human involvement and foreigners touring India to personally visit the office of Foreigners Registration Office or Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRO/FRRO) for visa-related services including registration and visa extension leaving exceptional cases.
In the e-FRRO web application, foreigners can get as many as 27 visa and immigration-related services in India from the ease of comfort. Using e-FRRO application, foreigners can apply online on the portal and obtain services through email and post without appearing in person at FRO/FRRO office.
Using the e-FRRO web application, foreigners can create their own User ID by registering themselves. Later, they can apply online through registered user ID for various visa and immigration-related services in India like registration, visa extension, visa conversion, exit permit and others.
