Gujarat University Introduces First Spoken Sanskrit Centre- Details

 

 

Home MInister Rajnath Singh inaugurates India's First Spoken Sanskrit Centre in Gujarat University

The Gujarat University introduced a course on spoken Sanskrit, in order to promote and publicize the ancient language Sanskrit.

The Spoken Sanskrit course will be the first course of its kind in India.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched the Gujarat University’s Centre for spoken Sanskrit on 10th February 2018.

The certificate course offered to aspirants will be of 6 months duration, to learn and speak the Sanskrit language.

The coordinator, Atul Unagar informed that the course would be held on weekend days- Saturday and Sunday. The fees have been fixed at Rs 500.

Atul Unagar further added, for the course, it is not necessary that candidates have any knowledge of Sanskrit before.

Atul Unagar also informed the first batch is believed to start within 10 days as the university is looking class strength of 30 students.

Atul Unagar said that an advanced course, with focus on grammar, would also be offered to aspirants who are interested to learn more about Sanskrit, this will enable them to read ancient scriptures.
