Rajiv Kumar, Niti Aayog Vice Chairman, has resigned from his previous post of independent director in the board of DHFL (Dewan Housing Finance Limited). DHFL is the third largest home loan & housing finance company in India.
Rajiv Kumar decides to quit his post at DHFL after he got the top post at Niti Aayog. Niti Aayog is also known as the think tank for Narendra Modi government.
According to DHFL, Dr. Rajiv Kumar served as an independent director on the board of the company since 7 August 2015. Rajiv Kumar has expressed his desire to resign from the position of an independent director through his letter dated 4th September 2017 due to his appointment as Vice Chairman Niti Aayog.
DHFL stated that the board of directors of the company has accepted Kumar’s resignation with effect from 11 September 2017.
