Rajasthan’s first mega food park Greentech Mega Food Park Private Ltd was inaugurated at Roopangarh Village in Ajmer district of Rajasthan.
Union Minister for Food Processing Industry, Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated the Greentech Mega Food Park Pvt Ltd on 29th March 2018.
The Mega food park was established under the shield of Government of India flagship programs Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) and ‘Make in India’ initiatives.
The Mega food park has been set up at a cost of around Rs 113.57 crore and will benefit around 25,000 farmers in and around neighboring districts.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal on the occasion informed that the mega food park has been set up across 85.44 acres of land, would also have one central Processing Centre (CPC) and four Primary Processing Centres (PPCs) at Jaipur, Nagaur, Tonk and Churu respectively.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal also informed that the mega food park would also have facilities for primary processing and storage near the farms that would benefit farmers of Ajmer & nearby districts of Jaipur, Nagaur, Tonk and Churu too.
The Mega food park will have the modern infrastructure for food processing facilities being created at the CPC & PPCs which include cold storage with quickly frozen capacity.
The Mega food park will leverage an additional investment of about Rs250 crore in 25-30 food processing units in the park and would eventually lead to a turnover of about Rs450-500 crore annually.
The Mega food park is believed to foster direct and indirect employment to 5,000 people and benefit about 25,000 farmers in the CPC and PPC catchment areas.
