The world largest Five hundred metre aperture spherical radio telescope builds in part of China's drive to become a science powerhouse.
It is located in the Dawodang depression (vast natural crater), a natural basin in Pingtang County in the Guizhou Province, Southwest China.
World largest radio telescope build in China's name is Tianyan (heavenly Eyes or The Eye of Heaven) which is an ambitious project of the National Astronomical Observatories of China.
¤ The opening of the Radio Telescope, the intensive testing phase of the telescope begins analysing radio signals coming from distant sources.
¤ To become fully operational, it’s takes nearly three years to calibrate the instruments installed on Tianyan telescope.
¤ It is made up of 4,450 panels and has very large reflector in Dawodang depression covering almost 30 football pitches.
¤ Tiyanyan has 500 meters diameter for much better senstivity then any other existing radio telescope sensitivity.
¤ It is used to search for signs of intelligent life and to observe distant pulsars. Pulsars tiny, rapidly spinning neutron stars believed to be the products of supernova explosions.
Tianyan telescope is new source for humanity to view deep inside Cosmos and listen those whisle that matters to earthlings.
