Asian Games 2018: Day 10: PV Sindhu wins Silver after losing to No. 1 China's Tai Tzu Yi: Details, Highlights

India's medal tally on Day 10th  at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia started with two silver medal from the men's and women's compound archery team.

In the women's team gold medal match, India lost to Korea by 228-231 to settle for silver. In the men's compound team finals, though the match was tied at 229-229, the gold medal was awarded to Korea and India had to settle for silver.

In the much-awaited women's singles gold medal match between PV Sindhu and Tai Tzu Yin, PV Sindhu had to settle for silver after she lost to Yin in straight sets.

Despite the loss, PV Sindhu became the first badminton player to win silver in Asian Games.

Earlier, on the 9th day India's Neeraj Chopra, with a throw of 88.06m broke the national record and clinched the much-awaited gold. With the win, he became the first Indian javelin thrower to win an Asiad gold.

Besides him, other Indian athletes include Neena Varakil, who won silver in women’s long jump and veteran long-distance runner Sudha Singh and Dharun Ayyasamy, who finished second in women’s 3000m steeplechase and men’s 400m hurdles respectively.

With the results in Asian Games-2018, India's medal tally now shows 45 medals, which includes 8 gold, 16 silver, and 21 bronze.
