PM Narendra Modi inaugurated a terminal airport in Vododara, Gujarat on 22nd October 2016 which is the country’s second green airport after Kochi.
He announced that India’s first Railway University will be set up in Vododara.
This new integrated terminal has been set up in an area of around 17,500 sq. metre and the cost incurred was Rs.160 crore.
This airport has been designed to manage 700 passengers per hour including international fliers with 18 check-in counters to enable the passengers to travel easily.
The innovations and modernisation of railways will help in building India’s first Railway University.
Later on this day, PM also attended a programme to distribute artificial limbs and other equipment to ‘Divyangs’ (differently-abled persons) in the city.
