Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 November 2017 stated that the Centre's target to double the farmers' income within five years, during addressing the gathering at the inaugural event of the World Food India 2017.
PM Modi announces the farmers are prime to the efforts in food processing and that the government launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana to create a world-class food processing infrastructure.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) drafted by the centre to double the earning capability of Indian farmers in five years period.
This will leverage an investment of USD 5 million, benefit 2 million farmers and create more than half million jobs over the next three year.
