In India, there are multiple powerful pressure groups present in all sectors of public affairs. From Business, Trade Unions, Agriculture, Regional, Linguistic, Students, Caste-based groups etc. keep presenting their ideology and demands to the government of India and state governments.
A business group is one of the most important, influential and organized pressure groups in India. Examples of business groups are Confederation of Indian Industry Confederation (CII), Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) - Chief component of Bengal Chamber of Commerce Calcutta and Central Commercial Association Delhi.
Trade unions pay attention to the demands of labourers and workers of the industries. Alternatively, they are also known as labour groups. Different trade unions in India represent various political parties. Examples- All India Trade Union Congress (Atak), All India Trade Union Congress (Communist Party of India).
These groups represent the farmer community of India and work for their wellbeing. For example, the Indian Farmer Union, the Hind Kisan Panchayat (the control of the socialists).
From such organizations, lawyers, doctors, journalists and teachers, in front of the concerns of professionals working in India. Examples include Engineers Association, Bar Council of India (BCI), and Dental Council of India.
There are many types of organizations in India to represent the students' grievances and causes. For example, the Indian National Students Union (Congress), All Assam Students Union (Assam Gana Parishad), Student Youth Sangharsh Samiti (Aam Aadmi Party).
There are 22 scheduled languages in India. However, many groups and agitations are working for the welfare of languages in India. For example, Hindi Sahitya Sammelan and Tamil Sangh etc.
