PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra on Mahatma Gandhi's birth Anniversary
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra on 2nd October 2016 at Chanakpuri, New Delhi where Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj was also present.
He stated that Indian diaspora should not be shown as numbers but should be shown as strength.
The Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas is celebrated on 9th January every year to mark the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa in Bombay on 9th January 1915.
Gandhi ji left India but the call of the nation brought him back
He believed that that India especially the Ministry of External Affairs has rescued not only the Indians but also the citizens of other countries.
The main objective of Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra is to indicate the common objectives of Indian Diaspora is to maintain the cultural identity and to serve as an exhibition showing the history of diaspora in the parts of world.
