The pollution in India costs 3% of India’s GDP report presented by Minister of State for health and Family welfare Anupriya Patel.
A statement to the serious health consequence due to pollution is presented ‘India-Diagnostic Assessment of Select Environmental changes’.
A report was prepared by World Bank Disaster Management and Climate Change unit which shows how pollution in India affects its GDP.
According to the reports, it has been found that the total damage due to environmental degradation is Rs 3.74 trillion.
The Government is taking steps to reduce the polution by monitoring network for assessment of air quality and laying down environmental regulations for its reduction.
The steps taken by Government are starting up of CNG, LPG gas, promotion of metro, bus, e-rickshaw, implementation of Bharat Stage IV norms in 63 cities and checking 15 year old diesel vehicles.
