Paul Beatty gets The Man Booker Prize 2016 award for The Sellout

 

 

First US Author, Paul Beatty awarded as The Man Booker Prize 2016 for his cultural satirical novel ‘The Sellout’ at London's Guildhall

He becomes the first US author to receive a literary award.

His novel depicts a story of a young black man who tries to replace slavery and racial segregation in the district of Los Angeles.

This award is presented to the person who has done the finest literary work in fiction.

Paul Beatty has been awarded 50,000 pounds for the best novel of the year written in English and published in United Kingdom

Paul Beatty has also been National Book Critics Circle Award in Fiction this year for the same novel ‘The Sellout’.

He also wrote many other novels like The White Boy Shuffle, Tuff, Slumberland and The Sellout.

The Man Booker Prize is the most prestigious English Language literary Award presented by the Man Group.
