Swachhata HI Sewa campaign ODF goals, progress report, target by Oct 2

 

 

PM Narendra Modi's Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign, Open Defecation Free (ODF) Over 2 Lakh toilet pits dugs on 17 September, one lakh toilets by 2 October in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state will be declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) by March 2018.

This was announced during a Collectors’ Conference in Vijayawada, as a part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign.

Over 2 Lakh toilet pits were dug on 17 September with the intention of turning them into at least one lakh toilets by 2 October in Madhya Pradesh.

In Maharashtra, the focus has mainly been on Shramdaan.

The administration and common people joined together to clean their respective areas In Jammu and Kashmir.

In Mizoram, the cleanliness drive was carried out in important and iconic places, solid and liquid resource management activities.

Solid and Liquid Resource Management activities were also the key focus in Chhattisgarh.

Generating awareness about Rajasthan, it undertook SwachhtaChitran a campaign where Block level officers, motivators, and masons, took to the streets to paint on public walls, water tanks and other such public spaces.

In Uttarakhand, to create awareness among the community members, Swachhta Raths along with nukkad nataks was launched.

To creating awareness in Punjab, the cleanliness drives gained momentum with major activities being undertaken including cleaning of drains, cremation places, ponds, roads.

The main focus in Jharkhand was on IHHL pit digging and conducting cleanliness drives at school, village, street, the community place, religious place, jail and Anganwadi centres and sanitation pledge at the block level and village level.

In Telangana, mass construction of toilets was initiated.
