Public sector oil and natural gas corporation (ONGC) has discovered oil and gas in Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal. From this search, ONGC started work in two new basins in the country.
Earlier, ONGC had started commercial production in six of the seven basins of the country. Now he is going to add the eighth basin in it. The company is going to include Kutch offshore in the country's oil and gas resources.
Detected oil and gas reserves:
ONGC has got gas reserves in the Vindhya basin block of Madhya Pradesh.
This search has taken place at a depth of more than 3,000 meters. It is being tested now.
After this discovery, ONGC has dug four other wells testing by ONGC end of the year it will find out whether this search is commercially practical.
Similarly, oil and gas have been discovered in Ashok Nagar of 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
There are 26 sedimentary basins in India, of which only 7 are bases of one category-one which can be used for commercial production of gas and oil. ONGC has started commercial production in six basins excluding Assam shelf Khambat, Mumbai, Rajasthan, Krishna Godavari, Kaveri, and Assam-Arakan fold belts. The seventh basin was started in 1985.
