Odia people celebrate Utkala Dibasa on 1st April. Utkala Dibasa or Utkala day is being celebrated in memory of the formation of Odisha as first ever linguistic state on 1st April 1936.

Odisha people hail the contribution of Utkala ace leader Madhusudan Das for his efforts towards integrating Odia speaking community.
