Jein, Fraser and Bernard awarded get Nobel Prize 2016 in Chemistry for Molecular motor

The Nobel Prize 2016 in Chemistry is awarded to Jein Perre Sauvage, J Fraser Stoddart and Bernard L Fringa.

Royal Swedish Academy has chosen the Nobel Prize Award for developing molecular machines.

Bernard was the first person to develop molecular motor

Jein is from France who linkied two ring shaped molecules together.

Fraser from Britain threaded a molecular ring onto a thin molecular axle and he demonstrated that the ring was able to move along the axle.

Bernard from Netherlands was the first person to develop a molecular motor.

He designed molecular rotor blade to spin continuously in the same direction and he was the one who designed nano car.

Three of them are awarded with 8 million dollars which they will share equally.

The world’s smallest machine molecular machines produces quasi-mechanical movements in response to specific external stimuli such as temperature change.
